As a member for last six years I’ve seen the changes of this association with the ups and downs of membership  mainly attributed to our life’s blood, the economy.   I was one of the last presidents of the Oklahoma Staffing Association, OSA,  for which I was a member for fifteen years and was very sad to see it disband during the recession of the early 2000.   Many staffing companies cut expenses and inside staff to the bare bone just to survive.  OAPC has been going through the same thing this last two years, but for those of you that weren’t members in during ’06 to ’08 we filled our meeting rooms each month with a wonderful array of people with knowledge from all fields of the staffing and direct placement.  The direct hire industry  and the staffing industry has become very similar and has a lot of common ground and this year we will continue to seek speakers and create meeting that will benefit both.  We will strive to make each meeting well worth you and your employees time.
This will be our goal of this year’s  board of OAPC, to regain the members that are willing to share ideas and experiences to others and in doing so building new business acquaintances.   Our theme will be “Not what you know but who you know!”
I’m looking forward to once again to congregate with Tulsa’s finest business people at the monthly OAPC meetings, I hope that you will join me.
